State of Ketamine Therapy Access in the U.S. (2026)

Ketamine treatment is now available across all 50 states and Washington, DC. But having a clinic somewhere in your state doesn't always mean you have several choices nearby.

KetamineFinder now lists more than 3,600 active in-person clinic locations across nearly 1,600 U.S. cities.

We analyzed where those clinics are located, how many choices patients have nearby, and which treatment types are available across the country.

The clearest finding isn't that ketamine care is missing from entire states. It is that local access can be surprisingly thin.

Nearly six in ten cities with a ketamine clinic have only one local provider.

Most Cities With Ketamine Treatment Have Very Little Local Choice

Finding one ketamine clinic isn't the same as having several providers to compare.

Our August 2026 data shows that most cities in the directory have only one or two active clinics.

Nearly six in ten covered cities have only one clinic. When cities with two clinics are included, roughly three quarters have fewer than three local options.

That matters when patients want to compare treatment types, prices, insurance, clinician experience, or appointment availability.

A city may technically have ketamine treatment while still offering very little real choice.

Expanding the Search Radius Changes the Picture

Local clinic counts don't tell the entire story.

A patient may have only one provider in their city but several more within a reasonable drive.

KetamineFinder city pages already account for this by showing nearby clinics when local choices are limited.

We analyzed how many cities still had fewer than three total options as the search area expanded.

The drop between the city-only figure and the 50-mile figure shows how much nearby communities improve access.

But widening the radius doesn't solve the problem everywhere.

The Most Isolated Cities in the Directory

Some cities still have fewer than three clinic options even when the search expands to 100 miles.

Don't read these as places with no access. They have limited choices in the KetamineFinder directory, which is different.

Regional centers such as Corpus Christi, Lubbock, and Bismarck stand out here. Each has a single listed clinic and few or no additional options within 100 miles.

For patients in these areas, treatment type can narrow the choices even further.

Someone looking specifically for Spravato treatment centers may have different nearby options than someone searching for ketamine infusion clinics.

Spravato Has the Largest Provider Network

The three main in-person treatment formats aren't equally available.

Spravato appears at far more clinic locations in the KetamineFinder directory than either IV or IM ketamine.

Clinics can offer more than one treatment type, so these percentages won't add up to 100%.

A further 52 active listings, or 1.4% of the directory, have no treatment type recorded at all. Those clinics offer treatment, but we haven't yet confirmed which formats.

Treatment totals should therefore be read as minimum counts rather than exact figures.

IM Ketamine Is Much Harder to Find

Intramuscular ketamine has the smallest provider network of the three treatment types we analyzed.

Several states currently have no active clinic in the KetamineFinder directory with IM ketamine recorded as a service.

This doesn't mean those states have no ketamine treatment.

Most still have Spravato, IV ketamine, or both.

It shows how much treatment availability can change depending on the format a patient is seeking.

States With the Most Ketamine Clinics

Clinic locations aren't evenly distributed across the country.

California, Texas, and Florida have some of the largest numbers of clinic locations in the directory.

Colorado and Virginia are tied at 109 locations, so the tenth position could belong to either.

Don't interpret this as a per-capita ranking.

Larger states generally have more people and more cities, so raw clinic counts measure directory depth rather than access per resident.

The 25 Cities With the Most Ketamine Clinics

The largest city directories give patients considerably more choices than most U.S. cities.

City counts use municipal boundaries, not metropolitan areas. Large metro areas can be split across many nearby cities and suburbs.

For example, Los Angeles area clinics appear under Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Torrance, Beverly Hills, and other separate city pages.

That means this table should be read as a ranking of individual city directories, not entire metro areas.

Ketamine Treatment Availability by State

The number of clinics in a state tells only part of the story.

The treatment mix can differ sharply from one state to another.

Because many clinics offer more than one treatment type, the Spravato, IV, and IM columns can overlap.

Patients comparing treatment formats can also browse the national Spravato treatment center directory and ketamine infusion clinic directory.

What These Numbers Mean for Patients

National clinic totals can make ketamine treatment look widely available.

At the local level, the experience is much less consistent.

Many patients have only one clinic in their city. Others have several options nearby but may find that only one offers the treatment they need.

That makes treatment type and distance two of the most useful filters when looking for a provider.

Cost can narrow the choices further.

About This Data

These figures come from the KetamineFinder directory and were updated in August 2026.

Each listing represents a distinct physical treatment location.

If one practice operates four separate clinics, those locations are counted four times because patients can receive treatment at four different addresses.

Listings marked temporarily or permanently closed are excluded from every figure in this report.

Treatment counts come from the services recorded for each clinic.

A clinic offering Spravato and IV ketamine appears in both treatment totals.

As noted above, 52 active listings, or 1.4% of the directory, have no treatment type recorded. That makes the treatment specific totals conservative.

Distance figures use straight-line distance from each city's verified location.

Coordinates are available for 99.9% of active listings. Three active clinics lack usable coordinates.

Those three count in national and state totals but not in distance calculations.

KetamineFinder isn't a complete census of every ketamine provider in the United States.

The report reflects the active in-person providers we have identified and verified in our directory.

Clinic listings change frequently as new providers are added, services change, and locations open or close.

For that reason, rounded national totals in the article may differ slightly from the current live directory.
