Patients self-administer the nasal spray during each visit, then remain in a calming, comfortable treatment room for at least two hours of monitoring. The standard course begins with twice-weekly sessions for four weeks, after which the provider determines whether to continue and at what frequency.

Spravato can be used alongside existing antidepressants following a full medical history review. Treatment is covered by the plans Aster accepts, though the practice is not in-network with Medicare, Medicaid, or MassHealth. A ride home is required on treatment days.
