Lifespan Psychiatry of Colorado provides Spravato (esketamine) at its Grand Junction office, serving patients across the Western Slope. Spravato is an FDA-approved nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression and for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder and acute suicidal ideation, and it is administered in-office under provider supervision.

As an NMDA-receptor antagonist, Spravato works differently than conventional oral antidepressants. Patients do not need a referral to begin, but an evaluation with one of the practice's providers is required to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

The office staff coordinates with insurance carriers and the Janssen CarePath Patient Support Program to obtain coverage, and Colorado Medicaid is accepted. During monitored sessions, patients can choose their preferred treatment setting and have access to WiFi, beverages, blankets, and restrooms in a private, comfortable environment.
