The esketamine nasal spray targets NMDA receptors in the brain and is taken alongside an oral antidepressant, with clinical studies showing greater reductions in depressive symptoms at four weeks compared to placebo.

As a REMS-certified Spravato treatment center, the clinic administers the nasal spray under direct observation with at least two hours of monitoring afterward, and patients arrange rides since driving is not permitted until the next day.
