Butler Hospital BRaIN Program

Butler Hospital offers Spravato treatment in Providence, Rhode Island for adults with major depression that has not responded to standard care. Spravato is a nasal spray form of esketamine approved by the FDA. Patients spray the dose themselves while trained staff supervise.

Spravato is one part of the hospital's Brain Research and Interventional Neurotherapeutics program, known as BRaIN. The same program offers TMS for depression and obsessive compulsive disorder, electroconvulsive therapy, PRISM neurofeedback for PTSD, and vagus nerve stimulation.

Care is led by psychiatrists connected to Brown University, and treatment plans use regular measurement to track progress. Patients start with a screening by the program team. Butler Hospital serves Providence and communities across Rhode Island.
