This FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray works differently from traditional antidepressants, and many patients begin noticing improvement within days.
Spravato targets the brain's glutamate system to help restore mood, thinking, and motivation. Patients self-administer the spray in the office under medical supervision, then relax in a private, comfortable space for about two hours while the clinical team monitors for safety and side effects.
Treatment follows an induction phase of twice-weekly sessions for the first month, then shifts to a personalized maintenance schedule. The practice coordinates with each patient's existing mental health providers and emphasizes safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the process.
