Stony Brook Treatment Resistant Depression Program
The Stony Brook Treatment Resistant Depression Program offers esketamine nasal spray treatment in Stony Brook for adults whose depression has not responded to medication and talk therapy. Doses are given in the office.
Treatment starts with two sessions a week for four weeks, eight visits in total. At the end of week four, the team checks progress and decides whether to move into a maintenance phase of once weekly sessions.
Care begins with a full psychiatric consultation across one or two visits, including a review of past treatments. Recommendations are shared with the referring psychiatrist. The program also offers TMS, ECT, and vagal nerve stimulation, and serves people across Long Island.
