Middletown Medical runs a ketamine clinic in Middletown for people with severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, or chronic nerve pain that has not responded to usual treatment. It was Orange County's first ketamine clinic.

Ketamine is given in a monitored medical setting and works on the NMDA receptor in the brain. For pain, it can calm nerve signals that have become overactive, as in complex regional pain syndrome or fibromyalgia.

Care is provided by an adult and older adult nurse practitioner with a background in interventional pain management. Ketamine is not a first choice treatment and is not advised for people with high blood pressure. The clinic serves Middletown and the wider Hudson Valley.
