Family Health Psychiatric & Counseling Center offers Spravato treatment in Mount Pleasant for treatment resistant depression and acute suicidal thoughts. The medication works through a different pathway than standard antidepressants and can bring a faster response.

Treatment starts with two sessions per week for four weeks, then moves to weekly or every other week as needed. The nasal spray is given in the office, followed by two hours of monitoring before discharge. Patients need a ride home and cannot drive until the next day.
