Compass Behavioral Health provides Spravato at its outpatient office in Ulysses, Kansas. Spravato is a nasal spray form of esketamine, used for depression that has not improved on other medications and for major depression with suicidal thoughts.
Patients rest for at least two hours after each dose while staff monitor them and check blood pressure. The schedule starts at twice a week, drops to weekly after a month, then moves to every two to four weeks. Someone else must drive the patient home.
Getting started takes a physician referral and a consultation visit. The organization is a nonprofit community mental health center covering 13 counties in southwest Kansas. Other care includes counseling, medication management, crisis support, and substance use treatment. This office serves Ulysses and Grant County.
