Kansas Psychiatric and Wellness Services is a certified Spravato treatment center in Manhattan, Kansas. Spravato is a nasal spray form of esketamine, approved for adults who have not responded to at least two depression medications from different drug classes.
Patients use the spray in a treatment room with a care team member present, then stay two hours for monitoring. The room is set up for comfort, so patients can bring a tablet or listen to music. Sessions run twice a week for four weeks, then taper based on response.
The practice is led by a psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years in healthcare, including work with the military community at Fort Riley. Care covers ages five and up. It serves Manhattan and the surrounding Riley County area.
