HCMH Mental Health & Wellness Center

The HCMH Mental Health & Wellness Center is a certified Spravato treatment center in Humboldt, Iowa. Spravato is a nasal spray form of esketamine, used by adults whose depression has not improved after two or more antidepressants.

Patients take the spray themselves while a provider supervises, then stay for monitoring until staff decide they are ready to leave. A treatment area was built specifically for these visits, balancing privacy with staff access. Someone else must drive the patient home.

New Spravato patients come through a provider referral. The center is part of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, and its team includes a psychiatrist, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and licensed counselors. Care covers children, teens, and adults. It serves Humboldt and the surrounding rural north central Iowa area.
